We all packed up for the weekend and headed east to Chico Hot Springs Resort. We made our first stop Saturday night in Bozeman to visit Heidi and Logan. Heidi was Kristi's study buddy all through grad school and they have stayed close since graduation. We rose early Sunday and headed off to Chico. It is a natural fed hot springs that was originally opened as a hotel in June of 1900. It is nestled in the Absaroka Mountain Range, at 5280 elevation, and about 30 miles north of Yellow Stone Park. Needless to say, it is beuatiful there. They have 2 open air pools. The larger one stays around 96 degrees, and the smaller one around 104 degrees.(way to stinking hot!) We stayed in this great little 2 bedroom cabin perched on top of the hill overlooking everything. Addison cried every moment we werent in the water and managed to make friends with everyone in the short time we were there. One little 2 year old girl named Chloe was especially nice and insisted on exchanging hugs with Addison and his mom and dad prior to us leaving. This is now our 2nd year going to Chico and can already see this becoming a annual and maybe even semi-annual family weekend vacation. So, if your ever on your way to Mammoth Yellowstone, or the Absaroka Mountain Range, be sure to stop in and say hi to folks at Chico!
